On the 15th of May, 2024, Mr. Surachet Chanduangto officially announced that the Sports Authority of Thailand had officially recognized arm wrestling as the 91st sport of Thailand.
"We started registering and applying (for) arm wrestling to join under the Sports Authority of Thailand since January 2023." Reported Josh Nicholas Magtoto who had taken 2 gold medals for Thailand at the 2023 IFA World Championship in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Mr. Chanduangto went on to say that the Thai Armwrestling Association is now working towards becoming a recognized federation under the World Armwrestling Federation (WAF).
