On August 26, 2023, East vs West 9, the world's largest professional arm wrestling event, took place in İstanbul, Türkiye, comprising of a star-studded lineup of 13 international matches.

The biggest upsets of the evening were Evgeny Prudnyk's comeback from a 0-2 losing situation against heavy favorite, Davit Dadikyan, and Devon Larratt's dominant performance against then-interim World Champion, Ermes Gasparini.


Other interesting matches of the night also included Ibragim Sagov's debut at East vs West after his stellar performances this year at Russian promotion AMC's tournament, and Vitaly Laletin (the Russian overall champion) battling Georgian, Revaz Lutidze, which unfortunately resulted in Revaz's withdrawal from the event due to a fractured finger.
